I had a great experience with Tom and his partner. They were professional, timely, responsive, and helped quickly switch out some circuit breakers that continued to trip. They also added in surge protection to mitigate power glitches that are common to my area.

We had an excellent experience with Tom’s technician who installed 2 brand new ceiling fans in our house as well as a new lighting fixture in our kitchen. He was fast yet thorough and made sure we were completely satisfied with the work before leaving, offering to handle anything else we needed.

Very Good Electrician – I had Schumann Electric out now I think for the 4th time in the past couple years. I will not use anyone else. This time it was to wire up our new hot tub. They are always on time and the job was completed as agreed.

Schumann Electric is by far the best electrician I ever had. He comes when he says & updates when in route. Tom can handle any situation. He has moved switches anywhere i asked. Many outlets been updated. Added ceiling light where I had none. Fixed outside boxes & figured out why one didn't work. Noticed my whole house surge protector wasn't working. Put one in. He has everything that he needs with him always. Steve, his worker works just as hard as Tom does. He knows exactly what he is doing. They even clean up!Posted on Google![]()

First off I wanna start off by saying this is my first Google review. But this electrician deserves a five star Google review for how professional quality work and being on time.He installed a hot tub for me it was a lot work it was about a 100 foot run from the breaker to Hot tub. He explained everything that had to be done and when he started he showed me the work he’s done during the steps Of insulation to me that shows he was not hiding any mistakes or coverups. Very professional in my opinion I would use this electrician for anything else and for any of my friends or family I would definitely recommend him . For me the best and honest professional electrician out truly a great persons ShawnPosted on Google![]()

I can’t recommend Schumann Electric highly enough. After moving into our new home, Tom and Steve helped us update and improve some outdated electrical work, making sure everything was safe, reliable, and up to modern standards. They were professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything along the way. Not to mention the communication with them on scheduling is so much better than any other company I have worked with. No back and forth between multiple parties. They get you scheduled and get the job done right. They also did an outdoor lighting project for us, and the results have been absolutely incredible. The lighting has completely transformed the look of our home — it truly makes our house stand out as one of the most beautiful on the street. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and design sense exceeded our expectations. Schumann is the type of electrician you hope to find: trustworthy, skilled, responsive, and genuinely proud of their work. We are extremely happy with everything they have done for us and will definitely be calling them for any future electrical needs.+1
Where Attic Fans Go on a PA House
Gable end walls, roof decks near the ridge, and hall ceilings for whole-house units.
When an Attic Fan Pays for Itself in Summer
Upstairs rooms five degrees hotter than the rest of the house point to trapped attic heat, not a weak air conditioner.
Who Gains From Attic Fans- Anyone With Bedrooms Under a Hot Roof
Cape Cods with finished second floors suffer worst. So do ranches with shallow attics and dark shingles. Both trap heat that no thermostat downstairs can ever reach.
What You Notice After the Attic Fan Runs
- An attic that vents on its own
- A top floor that cools by night
- No hot ceiling over the bed at night
Attic Trapping the Heat?
One vent fan changes the whole top floor.

About Schumann Electric
Air Movement Is Electrical Work
Fans, thermostats, and wiring belong to electricians, and we have proved it locally for decades.
Schumann Electric has wired attic and exhaust ventilation into Chester County homes for over 25 years, learning exactly how local summers punish shingles and how our damp winters breed attic moisture. Every installation includes correctly sized fans, dedicated wiring, and automatic controls set for this climate. The owner supervises each project, pricing arrives in writing beforehand, and full Pennsylvania licensing backs the finished system.
Attic Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Sizing, roof cuts, cost, and if your soffits can cope with it.Replacement is the honest answer when the bus is burned, the main breaker failed, or the box has no room left. We fit a 200-amp main circuit panel and move every branch circuit across it ourselves.
Do attic fans cut the cost of cooling upstairs?
In most Chester County, PA homes, yes. Dropping attic temperature by thirty degrees takes a real load off the air conditioner underneath it. The savings show on the July bill, not the April one, and it compounds through each summer that follows it.
Will an attic fan pull air from my rooms?
Only if the intake is blocked. A correctly vented attic draws through the soffits, not through the ceiling below. That is why we check every soffit before quoting, and why we clear or add intake when the numbers fall short of the fan.
Should I choose a whole-house fan or attic fan?
They solve different problems. An attic fan clears roof space heat all day. A whole-house fan pulls cool night air through open windows and out the vents. Plenty of Downingtown, PA homes run both, on separate controls, at different hours of the day.
Is a roof-mounted attic fan ever a leak risk?
Not when it is flashed properly. The unit sits on a curb cut between rafters, flashed under the shingle course above and over the one below, exactly as a vent pipe is. Poor flashing leaks. Correct flashing does not, so we take time.
Can you fit an attic fan to existing vents?
Often the simplest route. A gable fan mounts behind a louvered vent you already have, which means no roof penetration at all. Where no gable exists, a roof unit goes in instead, and we tell you which suits your framing before we book.
How big an attic fan does a house need?
Roughly one CFM for every square foot of attic floor, then more for a dark roof. A twelve hundred foot attic wants around fourteen hundred CFM. We measure rather than guess, because an oversized unit starves itself of intake and works against you.
