I had a great experience with Tom and his partner. They were professional, timely, responsive, and helped quickly switch out some circuit breakers that continued to trip. They also added in surge protection to mitigate power glitches that are common to my area.

We had an excellent experience with Tom’s technician who installed 2 brand new ceiling fans in our house as well as a new lighting fixture in our kitchen. He was fast yet thorough and made sure we were completely satisfied with the work before leaving, offering to handle anything else we needed.

Very Good Electrician – I had Schumann Electric out now I think for the 4th time in the past couple years. I will not use anyone else. This time it was to wire up our new hot tub. They are always on time and the job was completed as agreed.

Schumann Electric is by far the best electrician I ever had. He comes when he says & updates when in route. Tom can handle any situation. He has moved switches anywhere i asked. Many outlets been updated. Added ceiling light where I had none. Fixed outside boxes & figured out why one didn't work. Noticed my whole house surge protector wasn't working. Put one in. He has everything that he needs with him always. Steve, his worker works just as hard as Tom does. He knows exactly what he is doing. They even clean up!Posted on Google![]()

First off I wanna start off by saying this is my first Google review. But this electrician deserves a five star Google review for how professional quality work and being on time.He installed a hot tub for me it was a lot work it was about a 100 foot run from the breaker to Hot tub. He explained everything that had to be done and when he started he showed me the work he’s done during the steps Of insulation to me that shows he was not hiding any mistakes or coverups. Very professional in my opinion I would use this electrician for anything else and for any of my friends or family I would definitely recommend him . For me the best and honest professional electrician out truly a great persons ShawnPosted on Google![]()

I can’t recommend Schumann Electric highly enough. After moving into our new home, Tom and Steve helped us update and improve some outdated electrical work, making sure everything was safe, reliable, and up to modern standards. They were professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything along the way. Not to mention the communication with them on scheduling is so much better than any other company I have worked with. No back and forth between multiple parties. They get you scheduled and get the job done right. They also did an outdoor lighting project for us, and the results have been absolutely incredible. The lighting has completely transformed the look of our home — it truly makes our house stand out as one of the most beautiful on the street. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and design sense exceeded our expectations. Schumann is the type of electrician you hope to find: trustworthy, skilled, responsive, and genuinely proud of their work. We are extremely happy with everything they have done for us and will definitely be calling them for any future electrical needs.+1

Repair Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
The questions Chester County homeowners ask when something stops working.
When does a tripping breaker need electrical repair?
Because something on that circuit is drawing more current than the breaker allows, or the breaker itself has weakened with age. A circuit that trips under a hair dryer is overloaded. A circuit that trips with nothing plugged in has a fault. We measure the load first, then decide which it is.
Does a dead outlet need urgent electrical repair?
Sometimes. A single dead outlet is often a failed device or a loose splice in the box behind it, and that can wait a few days. A dead outlet alongside a burning smell, a warm plate, or scorch marks is heat at a connection, and that gets same-day attention.
Can you repair a fault inside a finished wall?
Yes, and usually without opening it. We trace the run with a tone generator and narrow the fault to a section before any drywall is touched. When access is unavoidable, we cut one neat opening in the least visible place, and patching is discussed before we start.
When do you repair and when do you replace?
Whichever costs you less over ten years. One failed connection gets repaired. Brittle insulation, a recalled panel, or repeated failures on the same run get replaced, and we show you what we found before you decide. Both options are priced side by side.
How long does an electrical repair visit take?
Most single-circuit repairs finish within two hours, including diagnosis. Faults that cross several circuits, or houses where earlier work was done badly, can take a full day. We tell you the expected window once the cause is identified, not before.
Do I need a permit for electrical repairs?
Rarely. Straight repairs to existing circuits do not require one under the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code. Replacing a panel, adding a circuit, or altering the service does. When a permit applies, we file it and meet the township inspector on site.
