Schumann Electric is by far the best electrician I ever had. He comes when he says & updates when in route. Tom can handle any situation. He has moved switches anywhere i asked. Many outlets been updated. Added ceiling light where I had none. Fixed outside boxes & figured out why one didn't work. Noticed my whole house surge protector wasn't working. Put one in. He has everything that he needs with him always. Steve, his worker works just as hard as Tom does. He knows exactly what he is doing. They even clean up!

First off I wanna start off by saying this is my first Google review. But this electrician deserves a five star Google review for how professional quality work and being on time.He installed a hot tub for me it was a lot work it was about a 100 foot run from the breaker to Hot tub. He explained everything that had to be done and when he started he showed me the work he’s done during the steps Of insulation to me that shows he was not hiding any mistakes or coverups. Very professional in my opinion I would use this electrician for anything else and for any of my friends or family I would definitely recommend him . For me the best and honest professional electrician out truly a great persons Shawn

+1
I can’t recommend Schumann Electric highly enough. After moving into our new home, Tom and Steve helped us update and improve some outdated electrical work, making sure everything was safe, reliable, and up to modern standards. They were professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything along the way. Not to mention the communication with them on scheduling is so much better than any other company I have worked with. No back and forth between multiple parties. They get you scheduled and get the job done right. They also did an outdoor lighting project for us, and the results have been absolutely incredible. The lighting has completely transformed the look of our home — it truly makes our house stand out as one of the most beautiful on the street. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and design sense exceeded our expectations. Schumann is the type of electrician you hope to find: trustworthy, skilled, responsive, and genuinely proud of their work. We are extremely happy with everything they have done for us and will definitely be calling them for any future electrical needs.

When a Microwave Must Sit on Its Own Circuit

Code has asked for one since the 1990s. Sharing a counter outlet is why a breaker trips on you every Thanksgiving.

About Schumann Electric

Powering the Heart of the Home

Kitchens have changed enormously in 25 years, and our wiring has kept pace throughout.
Schumann Electric has wired Chester County kitchens through every appliance generation, from basic electric ranges to convection wall ovens and inverter microwaves. Dedicated circuit work rewards precision: wire gauge, breaker size, and outlet type must match the appliance exactly, and ours always do. The owner checks every kitchen project personally; customers receive written pricing before work starts, and full Pennsylvania licensing stands behind each connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cords, prongs, gas swaps, and the cost of a new range circuit.
Do induction ranges need a circuit of their own?
Every electric range does, induction too. Fifty amps at 240 volts on its own breaker is the usual answer, though some slide-in models ask for forty. We read the nameplate rather than guess, because the wire size follows from that one number alone.
Only when the outlet or the circuit is altered. An existing three-prong outlet may stay as it is, but any new one must be four-prong, because the neutral and the ground are kept separate now, and that separation is the entire safety point.
For a fitted or over-range unit, yes. Code calls for a dedicated 20 amp circuit, and it stops the kitchen breaker from tripping when the microwave and the kettle run at once. A countertop model on an existing outlet is a rather different matter.
Either, depending on the maker. Many wall ovens arrive with no cord at all and are hardwired into a junction box behind the cabinet. Others take a cord and outlet, which makes a later swap far easier for whoever comes along next time.
Usually, when the panel has a spare double slot and the route is reachable. A basement or crawlspace run below the kitchen is straightforward. A second floor kitchen, or a finished basement ceiling, adds time, and we quote that time before we start.
A week ahead is comfortable. The circuit is finished, tested, and waiting, so the delivery crew connects the appliance and leaves. Booking after the range lands means it sits unusable in the kitchen until we can get there, which nobody enjoys at all.
